  4                  An Act relating to eminent domain; providing certain
 
  5                  tax exemptions for just compensation; providing for
 
  6                  codification; and providing an effective date.
 
  7     BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
 
  8           SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified
 
  9     in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 17 of Title 27, unless there is
 
 10     created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
 
 11           Just compensation received after December 31, 2007, by any
 
 12     person whose private property is taken or damaged for public use
 
 13     shall not be subject to state estate and income taxes levied
 
 14     pursuant to Sections 802 and 2355 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma
 
 15     Statutes.
 
 16           SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2007.
